Happy Holidays!

Sorry that it's been a while since the last update; things have been a little hectic lately.

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 12th, after school in Ms Blattman's room, Rm 2516. We will be doing odd jobs for the teachers, helping them finish up at the end of the quarter.
February's meeting will be on Wednesday the 9th, also after school. We will be going to the Food Bank to help out there with whatever they have for us to do. There will not be a bus, so you will have to pick up a travel form in order to carpool with other members. Please plan ahead; we look forward to seeing everyone there!

Sophmores!!! The time for you is nearly here! You will be able to join at the beginning of second semester, in time to come to the Feb. service at the Food Bank. Remember that there is a $15 fee required, take your receipt to Ms Blattman, again upstairs in Rm 2516. The other requirements for participation in National Honor Society are listed to the right of this page. We are super excited to have you come with us. It's going to be great fun. :D

Just a heads up: The official Induction Ceremony is going to be in the evening on Wednesday, March 9th. We expect everyone to be there, so keep that night free on your calendars. There will be more specific information available as the date draws nearer.

Welcome!

Last week was the first NHS meeting, where we elected officers and then spent time in the library helping to set up tables and organize boxes of books. For any Juniors or Seniors that missed that first meeting it's not too late to join! Go and see Ms Blattman upstairs in room 2516 to get set with everything that you need. Sophmores, your time has not yet come. Sophmores are required to be a student at Herriman High for one semester before they may join NHS. Sophmores who join after first semester only are required to complete 4 service hours for the year, instead of the usual 8 (See 'Qualifications' in side-bar).

Remember! You are not considered a full member of NHS until you pay the mandatory $15 fee to the main office and give the receipt to Ms Blattman.

Activities will always be on the second Wednesday of every month, unless otherwise specified. The first real activity will be on Wednesday, October 13 after school in Ms Blattman's room. We will be decorating encouraging posters to put up around the school, so come prepared with inspiring quotes and/or sayings! :D
